Modelling Infectious Diseases and Health Economics - Summer School
The University of Antwerp is organising a 5-day summer school focused on infectious disease modelling and health economic evaluation. This hands-on programme combines theoretical insights with practical applications, equipping participants with the skills to analyse disease transmission and assess the economic impact of public health interventions.
Programme
Throughout the week, participants will explore key concepts and tools used in infectious disease modelling and health economics. The programme includes:

- Deterministic and stochastic modelling approaches
- Parameter estimation and social contact data
- Health economic evaluations (cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analysis)
- Interactive tutorials using R
- Applications to vaccines and public health decision-making
Target Audience
This summer school is designed for researchers, PhD students, and health science professionals in epidemiology, public health, health economics, statistics, or related fields who want to strengthen their analytical and modelling skills and/or increase their understanding of cost-effectiveness analysis.
