At Hasselt University (UHasselt), high-quality fundamental and applied research in the domain of life sciences and health is conducted through its key research institutes: the Biomedical Research Institute (BIOMED), the Limburg Clinical Research Center (LCRC) and the Data Science Institute (DSI).
BIOMED, one of the university’s flagship research institutes, focuses on high-quality fundamental research while actively integrating translational programs aimed at developing applications that benefit patients in need.
Its research activities are concentrated in three main disease areas: immunology, neuroscience and cardiometabolic science.
