FAGG – AFMPS – FAMHP

The Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) is the competent authority in Belgium, which plays an essential role in the protection of public health by ensuring the quality, safety, efficacy and availability of:

  • medicines for human and veterinary use, including homeopathic medicines and herbal medicines, pharmacy made and officinal preparations
  • health products, including medical devices and accessories, raw materials for medicines preparation and production
  • all operations involving human body material (blood, cells and tissues), which are also defined as health products

in clinical development and on the market.

The FAMHP works together with the academic world, the pharmaceutical industry and other sectors involved, healthcare professionals and other national, European and global bodies and political leaders, to provide the population with the medicines and health products they need and to help patients or citizens use them properly.
